Paul McQuillan

COTTAGE GROVE - Paul Alexander McQuillan, age 42, originally born in Greenock, Scotland and resided in Greenwich, Conn., passed away on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019, in Cottage Grove, Wis. He was born on Sept. 18, 1977. He is survived by his loving parents, Linda and Jon Thornell and his father, Alexander McQuillan. Paul graduated in 1995 from Fitch High School in Groton, Conn. where he was an All-State soccer player. He continued his studies at Mitchell College in New London, Conn. on a full soccer scholarship and continued onto Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts where he received his degree in Business Management. Paul worked as a hospitality manager for prestige bars and restaurants. Paul was blessed with three children, Emma, Brady and little “Jack Jack". He loved them with all his heart and truly cherished the time he spent with them. He also loved playing video games with his sons and adored his little princess Emma. His favorite holidays were Halloween and Christmas. Paul had a heart of gold, he also loved spending time with his family and was very well known for his chivalry and great manners. He was a true Packers and Red Sox fan. He also loved his soccer (fitba) team Glasgow Rangers! And even after all these years away from Scotland he remained a true Scot! Holding Scotland near and dear in his heart. In addition to his children, Paul is survived by their mother, Keri McQuillan; his parents; Linda and Jon Thornell and Alexander (Linda Piggott) McQuillan; sisters, Sharon McQuillan (Dana) Wagner, Nichole Thornell, Lea-Ann Thornell, Gemma (Steven Keegan) McQuillan and Danielle McQuillan; brothers, Christopher McQuillan-Thornell, Ross (Siobhan Cooke) McQuillan, Scott (Hannah) McQuillan and Alexander McQuillan; and nieces and nephews, Deandra, Janelle, Saige and Jaxson all from Wisconsin, and many nieces and nephews who reside in Scotland. A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019.
