Edna Helen Huggett

My fondest memories are playing on the sod fields and the wonderful mint smell on their farm. Thanks foe sharing the soft smooth sod to do cartwheels, somersaults and whatever we wanted.

Edna was the first neighbor to come and greet me when I moved to “the neighborhood.” She told me the woman who lived in my house when she moved to Marshall was the first to befriend her and offer to help with kids or in anyway should could. Edna did that for me. Many meals and treats were delivered over the years as well as fresh vegetable from Jim’s garden. If I needed someone to watch the kids for an hour or two she helped me out. We even traded rides with Edna and Jim to/from the airport or park and ride for trips. They were just awesome people, friends and neighbors. I am forever grateful for Edna’s warm friendship and hospitality. Classy lady with a huge heart. My family is blessed to have known her. When we lose a loved one, time stands still for a moment and everything changes. It takes time to adjust to a new normal. So take it day by day and find comfort in the good memories and the love that surrounds you. May you find peace in your heart and comfort in your memories.You did all you could to help your MOM and you showed that you really cared. I believe God has a special place for your family. I remember Edna for her strength and kind heart. We were running buddies several summers ago when we were attempting to run a few 5 K races around the Madison area. We serviced each one and had good fun training together on our back country roads .We also had children together in the same grade all thru the Marshall school district. I too loved to quilt and Edna was my inspiration . She will be missed and remembered always. JoEllen Zimmerman
