Dear Coach Kolseth,
We all are sure going to miss you. Not only were you a fine coach and educator, but you were one of the finest people that I have had the privilege of knowing. Thank you for passing along so many of life's lessons to me. The World would be a better place with more Roger Kolseth's!!

It takes a village to raise a child. Mr. Roger Kolseth is a man that always set great examples for me growing up. I respected him from the first day I met him at about age 4 or 5. Great childhood memories of family get togethers as my parents and the Kolseths would meet often for dinner and laughs. As time marches on , I extend my deepest sympathy to the Kolseth family in this difficult time.

Grand life Roger. Such a pleasant and fun personality. Wonderful obit and well deserved. The Kolseth children were equally a personification of Dad/Mom. I had not realized that Roger had done so much for youngsters in both his teaching/coaching career. Whenever our paths would cross he never failed to stop and share a hearty smile/greeting. We always talked something re: education and/or athletics. Knew he had a couple of bouts w/ health but he always survived and moved on. Such a pleasure to call Roger a friend and colleague. May you rest in peace me' good friend. Patrick Kennedy, McF

I first met Roger when I had Brent in my 4 year old Sunday School class. Over the years, our
paths have crossed many times at Bethel Church. He always had a smile, and friendly hello. My deepest sympathy to the family. God's Blessings to all of you.

Coach Roger Kolseth recruited me to play volleyball during my sophomore year at Madison West. He was also my gym teacher many times in my remaining 2 years at West. In the early 80's, after returning to West, Roger hired me as the freshmen boys volleyball coach. He later promoted me to the JV coach and eventually, after his retirement, recommended to Principal Al Colucci, I become the next head boys volleyball coach at West. As a direct reflection of Roger's wisdom and experience, I am proud to say Madison West Boy's Volleyball Team won the 1984 State Volleyball Championship. As I continue coaching today, I am constantly reminded and truly thankful for everything Roger, and the other great coaches at West have instilled in me. While we all mourn his loss here on earth, we will continue to accept his guidance from his new head coaching assignment in heaven. Thank you, Roger.
