Dr Lofgren was my dentist from about the age of 10 until he retired. A mighty long time. I think my sister and I still have the little animals he would give out. We always laughed about how he would ask us a question or tell a joke while his fingers were in our mouth. He’s lucky he didn’t lose a finger when we’d start laughing. Thanks for taking good care of my teeth all those years. My thoughts are with the family.

My sympathies to Pat and the Lofgren family. Doc was my dentist and friend for over 45 years. As a McFarland Lions member my class did an eyeglass recycling campaign and walked to Dr Lofgren’s dental office to deliver our used eyeglass collection, a photo was published in the “Community Life” newspaper.

I not only knew Dr Lofgren as my dentist I knew him from Monona Lutheran Church where my family also attended. Dr Lofgren and his wife Pat were sponsors in the Walther League organization at that church. We lived on Lake Kegonsa near McFarland. I remember Dr Lofgren faithfully picking me up and taking me to the meetings and outings of the organization. I really had no other way of participating and I am so grateful for his dedication to the youth of the church. I have fond memories of those outings. What wonderful mentors he and Pat were to us. When I hear the song Thank You (for giving to the Lord) I can think of no better example than Dr Lofgren. What a wonderful, Godly man he was. I am so sorry for your loss my thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Joan (Bennett) Wiersum

To Pat: we were saddened to learn of Gordon's passing. You may not remember us, but we first met you and Gordy when our son, Todd, was diagnosed as hearing impaired in 1968. You were our first parent contact at the time and we will always be grateful to both of you for your support at a difficult time. We spent many MAED meetings together at Frank Allis School for some years. Blessings to you as you mourn the loss of your husband. Sincerely, Jan and Gordy McChesney

Pat/family - So sorry to read of Gordon's demise. He and Larry Santulli were some of the very first folks we met upon our arrival in McF. They were not only great friends but wonderful characters. Loved the banter between the two and the good times we had in the drug store. it was surely my pleasure to share comments w/ Gordon esp. these last few yrs. when I would be jogging by the house. He always had a smile (great pic) and a smart comment to cheer up my day. Kudos/applause to all of you who took such good care of Doc during his last days. He will always be remembered as an icon in our community. May he rest in peace - I would give $$$ to see him meet Santulli at the "pearly gates. Patrick Kennedy
