Obituary
OREGON - Beatrice Esther (Tate) Larsen passed away on her 102nd birthday, Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022, at Oakwood Village, Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Madison. She was born on Feb. 16, 1920, to Floyd and Erma (Kuehl) Tate in Breed, Wis.
Beatrice was united in marriage to Carl “Mareno” Larsen on May 18, 1940, at The Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. She worked for the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles for 25 years.
Bea loved spending time with her family and friends. She took pride in hosting and making holiday meals for family gatherings. Bea loved to travel and especially enjoyed her trips to Kenya and Denmark. In her free time, she enjoyed baking, doing ceramics, and reading. Over the years, she was a member of Naomi Circle, Swan Creek Sewing Circle and Swan Creek Community Card Club.
Beatrice is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Alan) Henke; grandchildren, Chellie, Cal, Christa, Carmen, Chad, Erik and Michael; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; her daughter, Janice Larsen; and son, Carl Mareno Larsen Jr.
A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be gifted in Bea’s name to St. John's Lutheran Church, Oregon, World Mission Prayer League or Agrace HospiceCare.
