I was very sorry to read this sad news, Al! But you wrote a beautiful (and fitting) tribute to your brother. I first encountered Mark and your dad many years ago, when I was a student teacher at the old West Side Center for Special Religious Education, held at the former Holy Name Seminary. Even then, Mark was a shining presence. My sympathies to you and your family!

We’re going to miss Mark, who was special in our neighborhood. He loved talking to members of our family and never failed to ask about Kevin’s parents and our daughters. He would greet us in our driveway if he was taking his walk and happened to see us pull in. He loved to joke with us about our mutual friend, Eric T. He valued his church and shared with me that he had been looking forward to the next pancake breakfast. Rest In Peace Mark.... Michelle & Kevin
