Hannah was a wonderful friend and colleague at AADL. She started as a desk clerk a few months after I did, and I was fortunate enough to be one of the people she shadowed regularly. Hannah was shy and quiet when she first started behind the desk. I could tell she was nervous, though she did a great job hiding it. She never shied away from learning a new desk task and would often ask me if she could watch what I was doing and then try it herself so she could better at the job. In no time at all, she blossomed, and had the confidence and ease of someone who had been working behind the desk for years. Hannah loved helping patrons. She loved answering questions and making book suggestions. She loved attending programs and learning. I looked forward to working with Hannah on the desks. She was so kind and so sweet to everyone. She was my friend, and we spent many hours on the desk talking about books and school and travel and the programs we'd like to participate in at AADL and our favorite parts of the job. I will miss Hannah dearly. She was truly one of a kind and one of the sweetest, smartest people I will ever meet. AADL will not be the same without her. Rest in peace, dear Hannah. With love, Meera

We first met Hannah when she moved by us and was up to bat at our area WELS Gradeschool Softball Tournament. (As she was about to bat, Tom, who was the umpire, said "You're a Kieta, aren't you? I went to school with your Dad.") Hannah was in our daughter's class at Michigan Lutheran Seminary. She was in our carpool and we remember with a smile the many conversations (debates) she would have with her brother on these rides. Hannah always attended the Installations and Anniversary services for our area Pastors with her parents. We had many wonderful conversations with her at these and she was always so genuinely interested and caring, asking about our family and especially wanting to know all about our daughter Faith after they had graduated. It was at one of these events that we had a conversation with Hannah just three weeks ago. She told us all about what she was doing and her plans for furthering her education. Hannah was always such a joy to talk to and we are very grateful that God gave us this last conversation with her. While we are devastated at her sudden passing, we rejoice that she is with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for all eternity. We will see you again, dear Hannah. With all our love, Pastor Tom and Laura Schroeder

I had the pleasure of having Hannah in the capstone History class when she wrote a beautiful paper on the Michigan salt deposit and its economic development. She subsequently expanded it into a publishable-quality honors thesis. I had many very enjoyable conversations with Hannah over the years and was very happy to learn that she was going to pursue a Master's program in archival studies. I am so sorry that her promising life and career was cut short. I offer my deep-felt condolences to the family.

I was honored to have Hanna as a student in my classes at Wayne State. She was one of the strongest students in any classroom. She had such a love of learning and desire to excel, and she helped lead all of us in the classroom to deeper understandings of the subjects we were studying together. She and I had many conversations in office hours and I truly enjoyed every exchange. My deepest condolences to her family and loved ones. She made Wayne State a better place.
