Dennis "Denny" Michael Owen

MADISON - Dennis Michael "Denny" Owen, age 71, of Madison, passed away on Monday, Oct. 4, 2021. He was born on July 12, 1950, in Madison, the son of Vincent and Arlene (Anderson) Owen. Dennis graduated from New Glarus High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Dennis married Susan Lorenz on Dec. 3, 2011. Denny loved traveling to the Mississippi River to go fishing and enjoyed taking his family camping. He loved his dog and faithful companion, Ivan, and was followed around by him everywhere. Denny was an avid Green Bay Packers fan on the weekends and spent his Tuesday nights bowling at Spartan Bowl, in a league. Denny is survived by his wife, Susan; sons, Sean and Shannon Owen; sisters, Janet Sample and Jeanne Smith; brothers, Dave (Betty) Owen, Robert Owen and Jack Owen; grandchildren, Brianna Owen and Alex Owen; stepdaughters, Kaila Hogan and Kristen Bentley; step-son, Nicholas Hogan; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frank Owen; sister, Connie Corning; and brother-in-law, Casey Corning. A Memorial Service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 12 noon on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, and also from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
