Winnie was the best. She would drop Turk and me off at spring harbor with the boat so we could water ski and she’d pick us up hours later when we were done. Sunday family dinners were the best with all the fixings, all fresh from the garden, she was funny and bright and always, always had a smile for me, she called me Houdy. I loved her as my own and love the whole Durkin klan. Turk and I have been with each other for 60 years I look forward to 60 more. Love you all and god bless.

It may be that the term 'one in a million' originated with your Mom & Grandma. Winnie was one of the fun ones. I knew her when I worked in Life Enrichment at Oakwood. She brought smiles to many during her years there. I recall the time a young aide was painting fingernails and tried to put white polish on Winnie, who told her " not happening", it looks like white out and I've had enough of that on my hands!! And that led into stories of all the typing she'd done. And when I tried to give her kudos for sharing her home with mother in law, she told me it was a piece of cake after 6 kids. Heartfelt condolences to your family but Oh, what a celebration you will have tomorrow.
