I have many fond memories of Jim while working for Per Mar at Camp Randall, Kohl Center and the Field House. We became work friends from the first time we met. Also that friendship extended beyond Per Mar as we would see and enjoy each other in other venues. Jim is someone I will never forget. Paul Nelson, Monroe

Mr. Nelson was one of my teachers in high school. He was an inspirational teacher and he definitely was a positive influence in my life while I was a student. My sympathies to his family and those who were close to him. G. (Jackson) Chambers

Mr. Nelson hired me 1n 1969 to teach Vo-AG and FFA adviser as a new graduate of UW- Platteville. He was tremendous help to me as a first year teacher. In April of 1970 I got my draft notice and he wrote letters to reclassify my status as there was a shortage of Ag Teachers. However, the US Army won out and I left for Boot Camp in July 1970.
