Dear Peckham Family, My deepest sympathy for the loss of this beautiful woman. I first met Ann in 1987 when we were both working on the Susan Engeleighter U.S. Senate campaign. We became friends. In 1988, my husband and I were married. Ann gave us a wedding gift of beautiful Christmas ornaments. Not a year has gone by that I have not taken those ornaments out, said “Well hello Ann Peckham!” And, remembered conversations and laughs with this loving, hard working, dedicated woman. May your memories become treasures. She was truly wonderful.

I have so many great memories of Ann and the Peckhams growing up next door. As young children, we loved knowing that we could rely on Ann if we were home alone and scared in a bad storm, and how I could earn money by snow shoveling before I was old enough to have a part-time job. I remember helping at fundraisers and getting exposed to politics. What impressed me most was how she looked at each issue independently and made her own decisions. My parents encouraged that too. Her interests in (e. g ) Pheasant Branch, her greenhouse, and choice left a positive impact on me and helped influence my life directions. She was a wonderful neighbor and I feel lucky to have had her next door. Our whole family will miss her. Bill Bleckwenn

Ann would look at the Middleton Times for grade reports from the local schools. She would then send hand written notes of encouragement to some of those kids on the honor roll. My children were fortunate enough to get many of these letters over the years. She loved the community and will be missed. Dobie Giles

Ann was one of my very dearest friends. We worked in Republican politics for many, many years together and had many of the the same experiences in politics. Ben was distantly related to me through the Pugh and the Gifford families. Our many involvements together are too many to mention. We had lunch and just chit-chat meetings for many years with just a group of close mutual friends. Since both of our husbands were both professors at the University of WI, we had all of that in common. Just loved Ann. Ruth Pugh Gifford Johnson. 608.238.0019
