Mary A. Tadych

Mary Ann Tadych died peacefully, surrounded by her loving children, on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Oak Park Place in Baraboo, Wisconsin. She was 87 years old. Mary Ann was born June 2, 1938, to Irma and John Marinack in Prentice, Wisconsin. She married the love of her life, Harold Tadych, on June 27, 1959, in Phillips, Wisconsin. The loving couple moved to Madison, Wisconsin, to begin their life together. Mary Ann attended the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, majoring in Home Economics, before meeting Hal. After raising their four beautiful children, Mary Ann worked for JCPenney in the fabric department, working her way up to the payroll office. She then began her 23-year accounting career with the State of Wisconsin, starting at WHA TV, UW Housing, and ultimately retiring from the Department of Family Medicine Administrative offices. Mary Ann’s passions were sewing, gardening and finding joy and peace in nature. She loved to cook special dishes for the people she loved, most famous for her brownies, German potato salad, and poppyseed torte. Above all, Mary Ann’s greatest passion was her family. Her quiet strength and strong faith set the example; creating a family bound together with love, support and compassion.

Mary Ann is survived by her handsome brothers, Robert Marinack and Christopher (Louise) Marinack, her loving children, Dave (Jacqueline) Tadych, Mary (Bill) Murray, Marilyn (Karl) Green, and Peter Tadych (Antje Hoering).

She is also survived by her lovely grandchildren: Paul (Amanda) Tadych, Joe Kurth, Samantha Tadych, Sophie Kurth (Aaron Bertsch), Danielle (Kyle) Schuettpelz, AnnaMarie (Travis) Kleist, Isaiah (Christine) Green, and Emmi Green. In addition, she was loved by seven beautiful and adorable great-grandchildren.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her mother and father, Irma and John Marinack, her husband, Harold Tadych, her sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Larry Wollock, and her sister-in-law, Eliza Marinack.

Mary Ann’s Family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the amazing staff at Oak Park Place Memory Care in Baraboo and to the Bristol Hospice Team. The care and support that both these excellent organizations provided to Mom and all of us over the past 18 months was a precious gift.

A “Celebration of Life” service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026, with Karl Green and Pastor Scott Larson co-presiding.   Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
