Lodi lost a true original this week, Cleon Guethlein. I first met him when he ran the pool hall on Lodi Street. I had the pleasure of driving many miles with Get while checking out fishing spots along the river. I’m proud he accepted me to be a friend, our conversations were many and always contained laughter. Get was famous for knowing where the fish were biting and how to catch them. He was known by many titles including, Walleye King and Mayor of Okee. He was also known to give lots of people nicknames, I’m proud I received one from him and I’m honored when people address me with it. R.I.P.P. Rest In Perpetual Peace, Get.
