I am Linda Hewett, one of Wilma Stiegerts daughters , I live in Houston Texas and only got to see Don and the rest of my family once a year but when I and sometimes my family, would visit Don was always very friendly and had lots of memories to share. He and I both worked at Pendleton together for a very short time. So we talked about that also.

Don was a part of my family for about 15 years. He took good care of my mother as she did for him. They were good for each other in their aging years. I will always be thankful to him for that. He loved his children and spoke of them all of the time. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren. Rest In Peace Don....

To Dons family,My deepest sympathy for your loss.I worked at Pendleton as a sewing machine operator. He was fantastic on figuring out how to make a machine setup to make our jobs easier to do.He always had 'words of wisdom' & I really appreciated how he tried to help each of us out in us doing our jobs.He was such a smart man & to put up with some funny & crabby women for all those years, he deserved a medal.God Bless You,Don. I also worked at Pendleton Woolen Mills with Don. He was such a sweet and caring man. Very smart on the knowledge of sewing machines . Thru the years I often wondered where he was. RIP Don. Your one of kind. DonnaLowther-Burmester

I was Don's pastor at Peace Lutheran in Fremont. I got a wild hair to Google him today after stumbling across pictures of him on the state historical website. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. -Sean Tyler
