Bryan Conrad
July 23, 1957 - August 15, 2025
Obituary
MORTON, Ill. - Bryan George Conrad, age 68, of Morton, Ill., passed away on August 15, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him. Born on July 23, 1957, in Hershey, Pa., he was the son of Marlon and Ruth Conrad. Bryan lived a life filled with devotion to and unconditional love for family, and a quiet strength that touched everyone who knew him.
He was first married to Glenda (Wilson) Conrad, who preceded him in death in 2019. Together they shared 38 years of marriage and three beautiful children. Later, he was blessed to find love again and spend five treasured years with Stacy (Ledford) Conrad, who survives him.
A longtime member of the Badger Kennel Club, Bryan served on the board and was known as someone who simply did whatever needed to be done, never seeking recognition. His passion for dogs was lifelong - he raised more than 20 throughout the years, each one a beloved companion. Friends and family will also remember his dry sense of humor and sharp wit, which could bring a smile even in the hardest of times.
He was deeply devoted to his children, who remember with love the countless ways he encouraged their curiosity and creativity - from sitting with them at the table to tackle science experiments, to sketching drawings at their request, to walks through parks collecting “treasures.” He gave them the gift of freedom to be silly, energetic kids, while always being a steady source of guidance and encouragement. In his spare time, he loved remodeling projects and building furniture, finding joy in creating with his own hands.
But his most cherished role was as “Papa” to his grandchildren. Nothing brought him greater joy than cheering them on, sharing his humor, and making memories that will forever live in their hearts.
He is survived by his wife, Stacy Conrad; his children, Brittany (Matt) Lutz, Ashleigh (Justin) Pauley and Alexander Conrad; step-children, Shea (Charde) Ledford, Jobie (Toni) Ledford, Bo (Lainey) Ledford, Shasta (Josh) Thompson, Patience (Drake) Sinn, Promise Wilson, True Ledford, Shiloh Ledford and Trinity Ledford; grandchildren, Isaiah, Adeline, and Livia Pauley; Cruz Ledford; Cheyenne, Weston, Kayleigh and Jack Ledford; Bennett, Wells and Nellie Ledford; Walker, Warren and Wyatt Thompson; Vivian and Von Sinn; Meadow, Olive and Everest Wilson; and Malikai Ledford; and his sisters Victoria (Dick) Kittel and Donna O’Conner. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Glenda June Conrad; his parents; and his brother, Allen Conrad.
Those who knew him best will remember his steadfast character, his generosity of spirit, and above all, the love he poured into his family.
A funeral service will be held at HILLCREST BIBLE CHURCH, 752 E. Netherwood St., Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025, with Pastor David Bartosik presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer’s Association, or a local humane society of your choice. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
