SPRINGFIELD - Ricarda Lynn “Ricki” Holmen, age 65, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021. She was born on Dec. 6, 1955, in Madison, the daughter of Richard "Bud" and Lucille (Browne) Slaughter. Ricki was united in marriage to Dean Holmen on Oct. 3, 1991, in Madison. She worked in food service at local area senior centers and most recently at Madison East High School, retiring in 2014. Ricki moved to Springfield, Tenn., in 2015 where she ran the concessions for her husband's non-profit music show, Music City Hayride. She loved cooking, trying new recipes and putting her spin on them, and she also loved caring for her loyal canine companions. Ricki is survived by her husband, Dean; stepson, Jason (Laura) Holmen; brother-in-law, Dale (Deb) Holmen; two sisters-in-law, Paula (Dave) Erickson and Judy Slaughter; and uncle, Ron (Jan) Browne. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Patrick Slaughter; and son, James Degenhardt. A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021. Burial will be private at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Music City Hayride, Inc., P.O.
