Sybilla Irene Opsal

Opsal, Sybilla Irene MOUNT HOREB-Sybilla Irene Opsal, age 95, of Blue Mounds, Wis., passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Heartland Country Village. She was born on August 22, 1923, in Ashton, the daughter of William & Bernadine Bernards. She married Boyd Lyle Opsal on December 8, 1945 in Freeport, Ill. Sybilla was a farmer her entire life in Blue Mounds Township. She enjoyed her family, friends, gardening, baking and playing cards. She was a member of Mt. Horeb Evangelical Lutheran Church. Sybilla is survived by her children, Lyle (Deanna) Opsal of rural Blue Mounds, Wis., James (Barbara) Opsal of Cary, lll., Shirley (Bob) Mazanet of rural Blue Mounds, Wis.; seven grandchildren, Troy Opsal, Travis (Leslie) Opsal, Lindsay (Scott) Pfenning, Tara Opsal (Todd Riddle), Jackie (Brian) Larson, Matt (Kristy) Opsal and Luke (Katrina) Mazanet; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd; her parents, William and Bernadine; brothers, Alois & Andrew; sisters, Lucille, Mary Ann & Loretta; and grandson, Thad. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH OF MOUNT HOREB, 315 E. Main Street, Mount Horeb, with Pastor John Twiton presiding. Burial will be at Northside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at GUNDERSON CAMACHO FUNERAL HOME, 500 N. Eighth Street, Mount Horeb and also at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday.
