Obituary

MADSION- Jason William “Buddy” Balousek, age 25, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, March 24, 2019, after battling a seizure disorder. He was born on Sept. 11, 1993, and graduated from LaFollette High School class of 2012. He went by the name, Buddy, because that’s what he was, a great friend. He especially loved taking his brother Randy, on adventures including Pokemon Go and gaming conferences. He loved movies, bowling, watching WWE, writing poetry and going out to eat with friends. He was very funny, a little like Drax in the movies he loved, “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Avengers: Infinity War” and was always putting others before himself, even in death as an organ donor. Buddy is survived by his parents, Yvonne and Chuck Ruhland; brothers, Tony and Randy; sister Kristin Balousek; grandfathers, Marv (Barb Snell) Balousek, Russ (Kathy) Kassulke and Chuck Ruhland Sr.; grandmother, Sue Mccadden; dog, Chewy and fish, Charlie Sheen; and many other special relatives and friends. The family will have a private celebration of life. Gunderson East Funeral & Cremation Care 5203 Monona Drive (608) 221-5420

Buddy told me he wanted to be a comedian back in high school. He was always with the jokes, consistently putting everyone around him in a good mood. He was selfless, and would do anything to help someone in need. A true friend. He had a hard life at times with his health issues, but he never let it get to him. He always was full of swagger and confidence. He was a true inspiration to me and others to be a good person, and to be yourself. Here is a clip from a class project Buddy helped me with. He had a knack for fashion and music as well. I remember we would go to Savers, where he would immediately go to the shoe section looking for the most baller kicks. He gave me encouragement to pursue my dreams, and always made me feel special. The last time I saw him was in 2013 when we hung out at my apartment. We hadn’t seen each other in a couple of years. The last time I talked to him was on the phone last year around summertime. He was always concerned with my well-being and looking out for me. Buddy will be missed immensely, especially by me. I pray to God that he be at peace and serenity. Bless you Buddy. I love you.

Buddy You were the sweetest, kindest person I have ever known. I couldn't have been more proud to be your mom and have you in my life. Although your life was cut short far to quickly your spirit shines on and I know the world was a better place for having you in it. I will miss you. Love mom

I remember holding Buddy as a baby and how he wanted to become a priest at age 5, although he later changed his mind. I am grateful to Yvonne for letting me be a small part of his life even after she remarried. More recently, I enjoyed reading his dark poetry. I will miss him.

I remember babysitting him and his sister when they were little and even then he was a funny always positive little guy with a huge heart. Buddy grew up into a sweet, loving, caring and yes still a very funny young man who i was always proud to call my nephew. A truly incredible young man with the spirit of a warrior and a heart that made everyone around him to feel blessed for knowing him. Love you big guy
