Obituary

NEENAH/GREEN BAY -Mary Ann Pauline Cox, age 82, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019, at Sylvan Crossings in Waunakee. She was born on Sept. 30, 1936, in Neenah, Wis., the daughter of Arthur and Margaret (Reiter) Steidl. Mary Ann attended the University of Wisconsin where she received her degree in Education. She was an active member of Kappa Delta. Following her graduation, she worked as an elementary teacher for many years. In her forties, she was beginning to pursue a new career as a financial planner when she survived a brain aneurism. Though she encountered many uphill battles, she was always grateful and had the most positive perspective (having pity parties with her friends helped!) Mary Ann was a very active parishioner at Resurrection Parish in Green Bay being a communion distributor for many years. She always followed the Packers and politics. Mary Ann loved telling stories about her boys, sometimes telling them more than once. She will be remembered for her strong will, determination, humor, kindness and love of her family. Mary Ann is survived by her sons, Todd (Danielle) Cox, Brett Cox, Sean (Yolanda) Cox; sister, Patty Raduziner; brother, Dan Steidl; grandchildren, Amanda Cox, McKenzie Cox, Tyler Cox, Jeremy Cox, Peyton Cox and Delaney Cox; special niece, Kara Acosta; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, who we know she is now with, enjoying some coffee, chocolate and Fox News. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Ave, Madison, WI, at 11 a.m. on March 30, 2019. Burial will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Neenah. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com. Mary Ann was a wonderful grandmother to my daughters Mandy and Mackenzie. Her Christmas gifts were always their favorites. She knew just what Dollar Store goodies they could play with for a long time. From her they learned determination, grit, and the value of wry humor to get you through hard times. I learned so much from my relationship with Mary Ann that is shaping my life and work still. Rest well, Grandma. We're gonna keep making you proud.

Hi sis, I put off writing this because it’s so hard to say goodbye to you. You were my big sister who I always looked up to and admired! I thought I was prepared to lose you but it hit me, and especially Kara,, like the proverbial ton of bricks! Growing up you were always so funny and popular, having tons of friends and boyfriends, half I had crushes on myself. Lol. I thought you were perfect and you were. ❤️ You suffered through a difficult divorce but you were stronger for it. And after just embarking on a new career as a financial advisor, you were struck down with that dreadful aneurysm, you were not going to let it stop you from living! My gosh, you even took a difficult online Para Legal Course and graduated near the top of your class. I know, I drove you to Milwaukee and attended your graduation. I was so proud of you! You had gumption, Mary Ann. Tomorrow is your funeral in Madison and I can’t be there but Kara , Kayla and Jordan are there for it. In fact, Kara is giving your Eulogy along with Sean. You would be so proud of Kara! And I so wish you could have known your great nieces, they have grown to be so sweet, loving , kind and with a love for Jesus! Kayla made a video montage of your life with what pictures we could gather to play tomorrow and I hope she can put it on here too! Well Sis, time to say goodbye for now! Hold a spot for me up there. Give my love to Ray, Mom and Dad. Love 💕 you always! Patty ❤️💕🥰🙏🙏
