Obituary
MADISON-Keith G. Hanson, age 64, of Madison, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Agrace HospiceCare. He graduated from East High School and was a life long east side Madison resident.
Keith was an avid collector of art, antiques and stamps. His knowledge was vast. He also could play trivia with the best of them. Ask Keith a question about anything and he would know the answer. He valued his heritage and did a lot of research on the family. He had wonderful neighbors and some really good friends. There was even a stray cat named Kitty that adopted Keith and would follow him around; Kitty could see Keith coming from a block away and would quickly run to him so he could follow him home.
Keith was a member of the Madison Curling Club and curled for many years until he came down with Crohn’s disease, which he had for most of his adult life, which made it hard on him.
Keith is survived by his brothers, David Hanson, Gary Hanson and Art Hill; and sister, Genne Bankers. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Hanson; and mother, Geraldine Hanson.
A funeral service will be held at BURKE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5270 Portage Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2019. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.

Keith was a friend and the orchestrator of the projects and remodeling for the Hanson family properties this is how we met. He was a few years older than me and graduated with my older brother Dan. Keith would see the talents in each person and bring them together to achieve his goals. During the time I worked with him there was Jhon Linden, Jim Brady, Steve Barr, Tedric Hill to mention a few along with his brothers David, Gary and Art. As we got to know each other he shared his interest in collecting and on the weekends when we were not involved in some project we would takeoff Keith with a load of books in the backseat with the information needed to make good decisions on his purchases. Obviously before the time of mobile computers. Then off to selected destinations all over the midwest covering Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois and Iowa. To see the antique malls, consignment shops and other places that would sell anything old, odd or just different. Back before the Antique Roadshow on PBS, the pickers on the History channel creating the interest it now has. His collection grew and God only knows what is hidden or he truly has. What I do know is that one of his idols was Alex Jordan of the House On The Rock and he would outgrow any place he lived as far as space needed to display his collection. He was always ready to share his knowledge with anybody who was curious about any piece in his collection. He also had a very dry sense of humor and you could see that in his collection of cartoons and some artifacts he had collected. Today we will celebrate his life and think of those good times we all had. He is now with the artist and creators and of all the things he love to collect. So RIP old friend until we meet again.
