I first met Dennis at work. I was 19 or 20 and we didn’t exactly hit it off. I remember calling him dad,it was the only way to shut him up!Over time and a love of sports we became good friends! He planned several sports outings as he knew that I would go but would not do any of the planning.Spring training,Celtics,AFC championship game!Another good-by to another good friend.RIP!

Dennis made us laugh in high school. Not sure he meant to, but his devilish antics we're so hilarious to us and we all had to laugh when we heard of his next adventure. The memories he provided to this day make me, and my husband Bob smile. We are sad that this world has lost a great friend, but happy that he found Peace in a place better than where we are. RIP our good friend. Bob and Nola (Hines) Moon

Rest In Peace Dennis. You were a one of a kind and I’m thankful I had the opportunity to work with you. You were passionate about everything you did from your love and devotion to your family, your beloved Pirates, your work ethic and the occasional cocktails to celebrate a good days work. You will be missed. Lisa Hines

Dennis was my older brother, the second of 7 kids. We spent hundreds if not thousands of hours together playing baseball, football or basketball in the yard and at the ball parks over the years. Dennis was a fierce competitor in whatever you played and the original trash talker. I remember once playing basketball and he was beating me and talking trash and we wound up getting into a scuffle. He could have beat the crap out of me I’m sure but decided to go easy I think. We both had to go shovel the dog pens for punishment. Fun times. I remember making a chariot out of old farm equipment one summer in Canada and riding that thing for hours. I remember Dennis riding a young colt named Cocoa who was as mean as Dennis, and would run Dennis as fast as he could under the tree limbs to try and knock him off. They were a good match for each other. The dune buggy created many memories (and close calls) as well. So many things to write about and crazy stories growing up with Dennis it would take a book or more to tell them all, many I’d prefer to leave out, lol. Dennis was a terror to many of his teachers I remember growing up. Poor Sisters and Father Kelly at Epiphany. I’m certain they were glad to see him (and me) move on. It wasn’t hard to look like the good kid when you had Dennis around. He was always in trouble and didn’t try to hide it. Once in the 9th grade, I think I have the story right, or at least pretty close, Dennis had a science teacher named Mr. Forman and there was a popular song out at that time by The Sweet titled Little Willie (had to look it up). On his way back from the office, Dennis decided to sing this song out loud, outside Mr. Forman’s room. Of course, Mr. Forman’s first name was Willie and Dennis was back up at the office. You Tube it and listen and laugh as that was Dennis. Mr. Flannigan was another teacher who I think had all the Browns over the years and Dennis, in particular, gave him a lot of grief. Dennis went to FJC to play ball. When Dennis met Cindy he did become all business as Mark mentioned recently, getting married and taking care of his family. I was Dennis’ best man and he was mine when we each got married. I remember visiting them in Atlanta in 95 I think. Dennis and Cindy had Jen, Tony and Chuck and Patti and I had Ashley, Tim, Lane and Amy. Three boys and four girls, sitting at the picnic table and I remember thinking, darn Granny and Bubba, that was us twenty years earlier. I remember him having 3 tv’s, with picture in a picture, in the living room watching 6 games at the same time. He was a sports nut. He was brilliant and had a big heart. They did move away and we did grow apart but I am thankful for the family reunions we’ve enjoyed over the years now (thanks Bubba and Granny). My kids were able to get to know their Uncle Dennis, Cindy, Jen, Tony and Chuck. They all loved Uncle Dennis for his quick wit and his penchant for letting the four letter words fly from time to time. I also think they enjoyed Dennis telling some of those crazy stories from our younger years. Good times. Going to miss ya D. Love you bro.
