Lorraine B. Roberts

MADISON - Lorraine B. Roberts, age 97, of Waunakee, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021, at Waunakee Manor. She was born on April 18, 1924, in Columbus, Wis., the daughter of Herbert C. Beck and Ruby (Converse) Beck. Lorraine graduated from Columbus High School. After graduation, she served in the U.S. Coast Guard. She married John Roberts on Aug. 14, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio. Lorraine owned and operated the Bouquet Shoppe floral shop in Columbus, a tradition that she and John carried on from her parents. In the mid-70s, Lorraine moved to Madison and continued using her talents while working at various floral shops. Lorraine enjoyed painting and doing crafts, and she was an avid reader. She especially loved spending time with her family and always kept in touch with her grandchildren. Lorraine is survived by her son, John W. (Stephanie) Roberts; daughter, Wendy Roberts and son-in-law, Philip E. (Margaret) Budde; four grandsons, Philip J. (Sally Knuth) Budde, Andrew Budde, Randall Roberts (Sam Wiebler) and Colin Roberts; two granddaughters, Megan Wetley (John Gould) and Angela Roberts; four great-grandsons, Taylor Budde, Quinn Budde, Rylan Budde and Ethan Wetley. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John H. Roberts; and daughter, Shari M. Budde. A funeral service will be held at Gunderson West Funeral AND Cremation Care, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of the service on Thursday. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Gio's Garden.
