Harry Charles Brickner

NEILLSVILLE / BLUE MOUNDS - Harry Charles "Chuck" Brickner, 85, of Neillsville, died at 6:45 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019 at the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, Wis. due to complications after his first chemo treatment. He was born Feb. 2, 1934 in Boscobel, Wis., to Ora and Clara Brickner. He married Karen Woodworth on Aug. 6, 1960, who preceded him in death in 1995. Surviving are his two children, Jane (Jeff) Ryan and Jason (Holly) Brickner; four grandchildren, Katie Ryan of Milwaukee, Maddie Ryan of McFarland, Ashley Brickner of Blanchardville and Isaac Brickner of Barneveld. Also surviving is one sister, Ginny Fenske of Baraboo and one sister-in-law Theresa Brickner of Oregon. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, many siblings and nieces and nephews. Harry joined the U.S. Army and returned after his mother passed away. He later met Karen at Turner Hall in Madison, Wis. and married. They lived in Madison for several years and after having Jane, they moved to Blue Mounds, Wis. where he lived for 33 years. Harry had many different jobs such as laborer, bus driver, and worked at the Dane County Coliseum. In addition, Harry was known as being a “picker” at local auctions, finding treasures and then re-selling them at his famous garage sales. Harry also was an avid photographer and chronicled many of his family events throughout the years. In 2000, Harry met Angie Garbisch and moved to Neillsville, Wis. where he spent the rest of his retirement years. They loved to travel, belonged to a dancing club and continued his picking and having garage sales. Many thanks to Angie for making his retirement an enjoyable one. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at the Marshfield Medical Center for their care and attention to Dad during his last days. They truly are angels on earth. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON CAMACHO FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 500 N. Eighth Street, Mount Horeb, on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019 at 6 p.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home at 3:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
