MADISON/FORT ATKINSON-Alice Jean Kossow, age 27, of Madison, passed away suddenly as a result of an injury on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019. She was born on May 20, 1991, in Madison, the daughter of Jim and Jean (Bronson) Kossow. Alice graduated from La Follette High School in 2009, and UW Stout in 2016, with a degree in Apparel Design. While in college Alice found her true passion, working with people with special needs. Recently, she developed a passion for dogs with disabilities and has been involved with several rescue groups. Alice is survived by her children with paws, Molly, Nala, Sailor, Savannah and Biscuit; her parents; sister, Meghan (Jeff) Kossow-Schwartz; aunts, Karen (Jerry) Capps, Sharon Bronson and Jackie (Rod) Spors; uncles, Lester (Donna) Kossow, James (Diane) Bronson and Roy Boyd; nieces, Jennifer and Saidey; nephews, Jesse and John; cousins, Daryl (Briana) Spors, Derek (Erin) Spors, Barry (Katie) Spors, Brandon (Danielle) Boyd, Bridget Boyd and her daughter, Kamiah Boyd, Olivia Boyd (John Abene) and William Kossow; and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; aunt, Kim Boyd; and uncle, Jeff Bronson. A Funeral Service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona, Dr., Madison, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Memorials may be made to St. Colletta of Wisconsin and Paddy’s Paws Fort Atkinson. I remember the very first time Alice walked into Monroe St for her interview at Bethesda. I knew instantly that she was someone I could see myself befriending. Soon after she started working with Bethesda, we begged our manager to let her be part of the Home Team with us. She must have got sick of us hounding her, because eventually she gave in and Alice joined our team. That’s where our story began, but it definitely didn’t end there. Alice and I quickly formed a friendship that I will forever cherish. From mini adventures, like seeing the Backstreet Boys/Florida Georgia Line/ Nelly at Wrigley Field in Chicago, to the many 5k’s we did together, to the low-key Cards Against Humanity nights, to enjoying bands and food trucks on patios at Tyranena, trips to the mall, movie nights, nights out....you name it, we did it. Alice seriously had a heart of gold. She was willing to do whatever it took to make life easy for everyone. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve called her and just cried when life got too rough, and vice versa. She was my rock and I was hers. We’ve been there through eachothers good, bad and ugly. She knows some of my darkest, most humiliating secrets, and as the saying goes, she took them to the grave. Not one person knew about them. I trusted her with my entire being and I’m so heartbroken to see her gone so soon. She was truly my best friend. I was honored to meet so many of her family members throughout our friendship and they are also the most caring, passionate people I have ever met in my life. It’s easy to see where she got that from ❤️ I could never say enough. I could go on and on and on, as I’m sure anyone else could. She was so easy to love. But at the end of the day, Alice will never, ever be forgotten. She had a legacy that will live on. We didn’t deserve Alice. God needed her more, but there will never be a moment that I won’t think of her and smile. Rest In Peace, beautiful angel. You are missed already.

There is so many things about Alice that were beautiful. She always had something kind to say. When i was not feeling good about myself she always reminded me of the journey i was on and that dreams do come true. She always found the good in poeple. Her love for animal's, she always looked beyond the struggles.

Even though I didn't get to see her or know her that well. From what I saw that she was a very loving, caring and wonderful person. I'll always remember her at the PPVs making my good wrestling brother Josh Oakley happy. I never told her thank you for making him happy but that's okay. She'll definitely be missed and may she rest peacefully in the house of heaven. Amen
