Obituary
WAUWATOSA-Carol Elaine Schara died on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019, at Harwood Place in Wauwatosa. Carol was born on June 21, 1937, to Walter and Edna (Rettgen) Schara in Madison. I was in the quilting club at Redemption Lutheran Church in Wauwatosa Wi. she taught me many ways to make a quilt. we were also in Craft Club and the two of us worked together on making microwave cozies. We had a lot of fun learning how to make those. I will miss her and may God bless her. Peggy Dixon

From the moment we encountered her, Carol became our first support system when we moved to the US. Her acceptance, patience, and warmth went unmatched and she instantly treated us as family. She was there to help us reach milestones that would have been otherwise impossible: learning English, the kids starting school, getting our first jobs, our first apartment, our home, college applications, and many more. Despite her busy schedule and powerful communal impact, she always managed to fit us into her schedule. From after-school ice cream runs with the kids to Wednesday family dinners, her presence brought contentment. While this news has been devastating, we know that Carol would want us to remember the good times and contagious laughs with a smile. We will miss her dearly, and she will be in our hearts forever.
With love,
the Milicic Family

My sympathy to Carol's family & friends! I knew her from Redemption (not Redeemer) Lutheran Church in Wauwatosa. Ruth Circle misses her and remembers her long devotion to the Bosnian Milicic family! We regret that weather, distance and age don't allow us to attend her services. Carol truly epitomized "God's work, our hands!" May God comfort and bless Carol's, family and friends!
A memorial will be given by me to Redemption church.
