MIDDLETON - Nancy L. Henning, age 85, formerly of Monona, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, November 4, 2024, at Brookdale Middleton Stonefield, Memory Care. She was born on August 22, 1939, in Madison, the youngest of four daughters, to Roy and Hildegard (Clausier) Clark.
Nancy graduated from Madison East High School in 1957. Upon graduation from Madison Business College, she worked for Paul E. Stark as a secretary. On May 19, 1962, Nancy married the love of her life, James Henning, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Madison.
After having her three children, she sold Avon and eventually worked as a claim’s adjustor for W.P.S., retiring in 2008 after 25 years. Nancy was an active member and volunteer at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She will be remembered for her devotion of time to the church and her great love for her family.
Nancy will be deeply missed by her daughter, Christine (Andrew) Nytes; sons, Jon (Karin) and Patrick (Dan); granddaughters, Lindsey and Kayla Nytes; brothers-in-law, Daniel Henning and Thomas (Barbara) Henning; many nieces and nephews; and her "Cronies," Ginny, Barb and Sharon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Hilda; husband of 54 years, James; three sisters, Geraldine Horne, Carol Henning and Joyce Beers; sister-in-law, Carol Ann Henning; brothers-in law, Stanley Horne, Stephen Henning and Paul Beers; nephew, Scott Horne; and an infant sister.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2024. A visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Saturday.
Our family is so grateful to Nancy's caregivers and the wonderful staff at Brookdale Middleton Stonefield. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Agrace HospiceCare and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
