Obituary

Roger W. Madden, age 47, of Genoa City, Wis., passed away on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019, at UW Hospital and Clinics. Roger contracted a serious fungal infection that spread throughout his body. The heroic measures of the doctors at Mercy Health and Trauma Center and the gifted doctors at UW Madison Hospital gave everything they had to try and save his life. Roger was born on Nov. 11, 1971, in Elgin, Ill., the son of Roger Madden and Linda Beutelspacher. Roger worked as a lineman for AT&T for many years and had recently started his own handyman business. He loved animals, especially dogs. He rescued many dogs throughout his life, including his current two, Magnum and Stella. Roger’s generosity and positive attitude are just a couple of the great qualities he possessed. He truly loved his family (fur family, too!) and his friends. Roger is survived by his parents; wife, Linda Madden; daughter, Amy Santi; aunts, Barb Patterson and Lynette Stozek; uncle, Bill (Kathy) Madden; sister, Andrea Madden; cousins, Claudia (Jeff) White and Christine McGuire. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Ron Stozek; grandfather, William Madden; and grandmother, Lois Madden. Memorial Service will be held at MICKEY FINN’S BREWERY, 345 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Libertyville, Ill., from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the animal rescue group, PAWS Chicago at http://www.pawschicago.org. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com. You were my “Bud” and such a Blessing to me. Words alone cannot express the grief and loss I feel. You had such a kind heart, so very smart, and funny too! Love you so much, Rog. My memories of you will always be precious!

I will miss you so much, big brother. There are no words to describe how much you mean and how much I love and miss you. I'm so grateful I was able to see you in December and I will treasure every single memory I have of you. I hope you're in peace and smiling down on us all. You were the best brother anyone could ask for. I will love you and miss you always. Love, Andrea (a.k.a. Binky)

Rog...one of the things I always loved and admired about you was your love for family. You were always there to help anyone in the family whenever they needed it. No questions asked. I’m so grateful for all the help you have given Mom with things around the house since Dad has been gone these last three years. I have so many memories of growing up with you when you, me and Christine were kids. Swimming in Grandma’s pool all those summer days.....playing Marco Polo and Dunkin Donuts and the three of us walking around and around in the pool trying to start a “whirlpool” that never happened. Also “ funderforms” up in the Wisconsin Dells that time that Mom and Grandma took the three of us up there for a couple of days (Mom and Christine will know what I’m talking about). Love you Roggie....you are missed ❤️

Roger - You will be missed! Your wonderful personality and your love for your family showed many times over. From attending family gatherings, (even for just a few minutes because you've volunteered to cover holiday work hours - so you'd drop by to say hello and share a crazy story and off to work you went), to helping out your aunt Lynette and uncle Ron at the drop of a hat. You always impressed me with your amazing memory of sport stats, I could barely recall what happen last Sunday and you'd rattle off some stat from 1986! May God welcome you home and you forever rest in peace.
