FITCHBURG-Mary Ellen Morrissette, age 82, of Fitchburg, passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, surrounded by her family. Mary was born on August 11, 1936, in New Richmond, the daughter of Dan and Ellen Wells. She married the love of her life, Doug Morrissette in New Richmond, on October 27, 1956. Mary loved her garden and enjoyed antiquing. Her greatest delight was her search for Fenton Milk Glass. But above all, Mary treasured her family. She was a dedicated wife, mom, and grandmother. Mary especially cherished traveling to visit her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by all. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Doug; her daughter, Julie Sanders, and grandson, Georgie Sanders; son, Jeff Morrissette; daughter, Jean Morrissette, and granddaughters, Katelin (great-grandsons, Mason and Bryce), and Lindsey Morrissette; son, Jay (Dana) Morrissette, granddaughter, Madison, and grandson, Nathan. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bob, Bill, John, and Gene; and her sisters, Josephine, and Margaret. Mass will be held at GOOD SHEPHERD CATHOLIC PARISH at ST JOSEPH CHURCH, 1905 W. Beltline Hwy, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, with Monsignor Thomas Baxter presiding. Our condolences to Doug and his family. Our children were born and started growing up with Mary, Doug and their children as neighbors. How lucky we were to have such good people as friends. Mary will always be remembered fondly.
