Obituary

DEERFIELD/MARSHALL- Harley “Buz” Bystol, age 74 passed away the evening of January 10th, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. A humble patriot, a loving husband and father, and a great friend to many. He was an embodiment of the American Spirit-the American Grit. Hard working to the core, he took pride in what he did - no job too small, he worked with his hands. Buz will forever be known for his quick wit, stories of mischief, contagious laugh, and no nonsense straight to the point conversation. He had such a heart for his grandchildren and love for all animals, especially his dogs. Buz had a great love for the outdoors; hunting, fishing, hiking, camping with his family, and sunsets on the farm. Harley served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Wisconsin Laborers Local 464, celebrating his 50th year in 2019. He was a custodian for many years at St. Mary of the Nativity Catholic Church in Marshall. After retirement he started his own business in lawn care. Buz is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Lu, three sons and three daughters: Jessie and Jeff Albedyll and their daughter Grace; Jason and Kelly and their children, Zalea and Kelson; Jacob and Beth and their children, Ben, Luke, and Leah; Jaclyn and her daughters Stella and Adalena, Janette and Martin and her son Kian; and Jeffrey and Ashley. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters: Connie and Rom Bobesku, Carolyn and Jerry Holler, Rita and Richard Paulson, James and Jean Bystol, Dianne Young, Greg Bystol, and Gaylene and Tony Green; In-Laws: George “Butch” Lazar, Margaret Reynolds, Chrissy Lazar, and Reen and Scott Vogel; nieces and nephews, extended family, and many friends. Harley was preceded in death by his parents: Oscar Bystol and Norma (Whitford) Bystol; his in-laws: George and Leora (Scullion) Lazar, Tom Lazar, and James and Kathleen (Lazar) Lee. A Memorial Mass will be held at ST. MARY OF THE NATIVITY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 112 S. Beebe St., Marshall, at 11 a.m. on Monday Jan. 21, 2019, with Father Randy Timmerman presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019, and also at church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Monday. No man can stand taller than when he serves his country. Thank you for your service Buz. You gave all to your country and family. You are truly an all American great man. You have been the best brother a brother can ever have and a great mentor as well. You gave me some great advice many-many years ago. You told me you must be always smarter than the project at hand or do the next best thing. That stayed in my heart to this day. Thanks again. We will deeply miss you. God bless you and R.I.P. Love, Jim
