Obituary

BLACK EARTH/MOSINEE/ELKHORN—Jamie Michael Zwiebel, age 63, died peacefully on Dec. 27, 2018, with family by his side. He was born at Lakeland Hospital in Elkhorn on Aug. 28, 1955, to Milton and Ethlyn Zwiebel. Jamie was married to Laurie (Smiley) Zwiebel in 1986. He is survived by his three children, Corey Zwiebel; one grandson, Jayden, Carlsbad, CA; Jacob Zwiebel; Jodi (Sean) Price and two granddaughters, Reese and Teagan; a sister, Debby (Peter) Manke, Black Earth, WI; a brother, Jeff (Gerry) Zwiebel, Elkhorn, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Marty; and his furry companion, Daisy. Jamie was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, bird watching, and duck hunting. He always looked forward to his annual trip to Canada to fish with his buddies. His favorite sport was basketball, both watching and participating. He played in High School and continued to play until the age of 62. He also loved music and attended concerts often. His record collection was quite legendary. Some of his favorite musicians were Robin Trower, Joe Bonamassa, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He was self-employed for the majority of his life, working as a kitchen cabinet and furniture craftsman. There are many homes throughout Wisconsin and Illinois displaying his beautiful work. Jamie had a positive spirit and always saw the bright side of life. He will be remembered for his calming presence and wonderful sense of humor. He was a very loving and devoted father and was very proud of his children. We love you very much, Dad/Gramps, and know that you are watching over us. A celebration of life will be held later this spring/early summer. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com. Jamie was a neighbor for many many years and a great friend for many more. I would try to stop at least one Saturday a month, for the past several years, to see Jamie at the shop in Elkhorn. The most recent memory was at Tractor Supply in Delavan. My wife and I were there and Jamie walked in. They had a bench for sale inside the store, we all sat down and reminisced for almost an hour. I also remember Milts Woodshed when they used to have a booth at the Walworth County Fair. Jamie and I would watch on, as our two brother Jeff's would purchase helium balloons and resite "Milts Woodshed, finest quality wood in Wisconsin! Lol. Jamie I love you, you will be missed by myself and many. You were one of my greatest friends. Love you

Jamie was a true gentleman and giving soul. He valued family, friends and he loved his Daisy. He loves his kids and grandson, he was so proud of them. Jamie always saw the bright side, the glass was always half full. He will be missed, never ever replaced, and no one can ever fill his shoes. He did enjoy Mexican food, we met several times at a little Mexican restaurant and he always ordered a taco salad, and maybe a rum and Coke. I’m thankful he is no longer suffering altho I miss him terribly. He will never be forgotten.

Jamie Zwiebel. My friend,my fellow soft ball team mate, my bowling team mate, my fishing buddy, my wood project builder. Words alone cannot express the sadness in my heart. You where an amazing person. some one I was proud to call one of my friends..All the good times we had throughout our friendship are to many to put on here. most rememberable are the ones we all (7or8or10) of us shared in the back of the old ford van I owned after our bowling nite. Those will be remembered forever. If I ever loved another man outside of my family, it would be you my friend. Gods peace be with you my Friend and don't catch all the Walleyes in Heaven. We will fish again the next time we see each other. Good bye my friend.
