Woo was a special neighbor. She always brought us treats at Christmas time which we will miss. We knew the weather was nice when we looked out our window and saw Woo picking the weeds out of her lawn. Rest in peace------Myron & Mary

My family and I have fond memories of Dr. Paik. When my family would show up to visit, she would always take our son into her office and open the "drawer" where she kept her toys and have him pick one out. It didn't matter if it was busy or not she always made time for Justin. I loved working with her in the peds clinic at the Naval Hospital in Great Lakes. She was a great person and mentor. Charlene, Justin and I will miss her and cherish the fond memories. Fair winds and following seas Dr Paik. Until we meet again. Kevin Shaffer HM2 1994-1999 NHGL

I am so very sorry to hear of her passing. She was a great doctor and mentor. She encouraged me as I prepared for my first pediatric board exam and told me how she took her exam orally. She had immense knowledge of pediatric medicine and was always willing to teach others. She continued her lifelong love of learning as evidenced when I last saw her at an AAP CME meeting a few years ago. Everyone in our department at Naval Hospital Great Lakes respected her and will miss her sorely.

For Dr. Paik family I worked as a Corpsman at NHGL I can remember her talking about her kids and grandkids. She asked Once for us to go help plant flowers at her house. She had a shovel it seemed for a five year old it fit her small stature well. She laughed and laughed watching us dig. She would call me in her office and peel and orange just to make me sneeze and laugh. She taught us so much about medicine and treatment. But most of all compassion and love. Oh how we will miss her laugh. With deepest sympathies Joe Dale Guidry

Please accept my deepest condolences for your family's loss. I worked as a Pediatrician along with Dr.Paik at NHGL. I was impressed to see the energy she had to keep on working at her age. She was full of grace and continued to be active and stay young. I will always remember her as a hardworking doctor who loved doing what she did. May the good Lord comfort you during this time of grief. Reny Joseph
