Obituary
MADISON/STOUGHTON - Dorothy E. Wood, age 88, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, at the Larson House in Columbus. She was born on Dec. 8, 1932, in Madison, the daughter of Stephen and Evelyn (Warren) Krantzer.
Dorothy graduated from Madison East High School in 1950. She was united in marriage to Monroe Wood in April of 1952. Together they raised three daughters and a son. Dorothy and Monroe were married 55 years.
Dorothy was a member of the Stoughton United Methodist Church and was a volunteer for their food pantry. She loved collecting and sharing food recipes, traveling with Monroe, and working on their family’s genealogy. She enjoyed listening to music, gardening, reading, and knitting. Dorothy always loved the holidays and would cook and decorate her home and invite her family and friends in. But most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Kathleen (Michael) Allen and Lori (Thomas) Olson; son-in-law, Steve Ward; brother, Wayne Flisram; 11 grandchildren, April, Tonya, Melissa, Heather, Amy, Sarah, Michelle, Keith, Ryan, Rebeca and Austin; 23 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Wood; her parents; daughter, Karen Ward; son, Steven Wood; and brothers, Warren and Dennis Flisram.
No services will be held at this time. A memorial gathering will be held in the summer of 2022 to celebrate her life. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

I worked with Dorothy at Cards N Such when I was in high school. What a wonderful lady - she would dress up as Mrs. Claus for Christmas, looked just like her. My sympathy to her family, may she rest in peace.

So sad to learn of Dorothy's passing. As a driver for RSVP in Stoughton, I had the privilege driving her to her medical appointments for a few years. Lots of fun to visit with her. What a nice lady!

Lori, Tom and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Dorothy was a joy to be with, always smiling and engaging in conversation. My memory was picking her up on Main St walking home from the grocery store with 2 full bags. She thanked me and said she bought more than she planned. I know she will be missed, however she left wonderful memories for all to remember. You will be in my thoughts and prayers and so sorry for you loss. Sandy Stenner
