Thomas Edward Miller

MADISON-Thomas E. Miller, age 73, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018, at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on Dec. 13, 1944, the son of Edward and Constance (Prescott) Miller. He was employed for over 28 years at the University of Wisconsin as a supervisor in the Madison Medical School Animal Care Unit. Tom was proud to have served in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Germany for most of his service and was also on alert during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Tom and his wife, Frances, enjoyed traveling, camping and, most of all, the laughter and fun they had in anything they did. Tom was very lucky to have good friends and a family that loved him unequivocally. He will be missed greatly by all, but no more so than by his wife, Fran. Together, they were each other’s best friends and the love of each other’s lives. Tom and Fran renewed their wedding vows on July 3, 2018, for their 25th wedding anniversary. They were truly blessed to have one another and so enjoyed the years they had together. He leaves behind, his loving wife, Frances Miller; sister, Sharon Strander; nephew, David (Mary) Hilsenhoff; great-niece, Jordan Hilsenhoff; step-son, Matthew (Sarah) Sveum; and grandchildren, Jack and Madison Sveum, who he thought the world of. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; and his nephew, Thomas Hilsenhoff. A private Celebration of Life, for family and friends, will be held at a later date.
