Obituary

MADISON - Judith Joanne “Judy” Kollath, age 78, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at Oak Park Place from complications of dementia and Parkinson’s Disease. She was born Jan. 28, 1945, to Victor and Florine (Schepp) Floeter.


Judy graduated from Cambria High school in 1963 and attended Madison Area Technical College. On June 27, 1970, she was married to John Kollath. After working for several years at various State and University offices, she took maternity leave for a few years. In 1978, Judy began working at First Wisconsin National Bank (now USBank), retiring in 2000 as a Trust Officer. She then worked for several years at Heartland Credit Union.


Judy’s favorite hobby was sewing, producing many quilts and banners. She was also a huge NASCAR fan.


Judy is survived by her husband John; two sons, Jim Kollath of Portage and Jason Kollath of Pardeeville; four grandchildren, Emily, Hannah, Alex and Brody Kollath; sister, Phyllis Moldenhauer; brother-in-law, James (Virginia) Kollath of Bradenton, Fla.; and nephews, Phillip of Chancellorsville, Va., Richard of Dallas, Texas and Jonathon of Bradenton, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers, Gary and Dale Floeter; brothers-in-law, Gary Strub and Tom Kilen; and sister-in-law, Nancy Kilen.


A funeral service will be held at LAKE EDGE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4032 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024.  Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.


Memorials may be made to Lake Edge Lutheran Church, Second Harvest Food Bank, or Agrace HospiceCare.
