LODI-Karen F. Skilbred, age 77, of Lodi, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on July 24, 1941, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Milton Franzl and Lillian (Gavlis) Franzl. She is survived by her sons, Chris (Danielle Delalla) Skilbred and Justin Skilbred; grandchildren, Sarah and Jake Skilbred; her sister, Lynette (Bob) Clapp; nieces, Sheli and Jill; and three nephews, Tod, Ted and Tom. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Carl Skilbred. No funeral services will be held. Karen loved gardening and her local clubs. With substantial sadness and dear, special memories, our family extends the sincerest of condolences to Karen's family on her passing. Thru our family's nearly 50-year association with Milt & Lil, and then with the rest of the Franzl family, there have been countless times of joy! In the past several years, since Lil's passing, Karen had become a part of our family and she was adored! Karen will be missed by all of us . . . We were truly saddened by the death of Karen. The entire Franzl family and extended family have been good and wonderful friends of the Cerveny (Hahn and Elke) family sharing rides from Illinois to Wisconsin and many cookouts and boat stops across the lake for visits. Lake Wisconsin was our mutual "LOVE". Our prayers and thoughts are with the entire family. We will miss "the good old days". Nick and Camille Hahn Merrimac.
