Dear Sutter Family, It is with great sadness that I hear of Art's passing. As you may know, he was a great support when I moved to Mt. Horeb as a young 20-year-old to take over the Tyrol Basin Ski School. After accepting the job, Art was the first person I met. He always had great advice and was wise in so many ways. Later, when I met Sue and I became a Catholic, we would often see each other at St. Ignatius. His spirit was so often a bright spot in my day. I can't imagine what my years in Mt. Horeb would have been like without meeting Art. Paul and Matt, you should be so proud of the legacy Art leaves in the world of skiing and ski instruction. Blessings to you both and thanks for sharing him with me at an important growing time in my life. Sincerely, Al & Sue Jackson Colorado Springs, Colorado

Christopher Berge Art could make me laugh until I cried. Holding court at Olsens/Goebels/Shuberts restaurant, Art and the intelligentsia of Mt. Horeb and surrounding villages of distinction worked out everything from the preferred aerodynamics of a plane's wing to how to solve world economic problems. Right there! In the back three tables of a restaurant in Mt. Horeb. Somehow we learned a lot from him while we kids sat in the wings with a chocolate Bismarck. Thank you Art and Charlotte for a lifetime of kindness you have shown me and my family and giving me my best friend Matt. Who would have thought my first job in life stacking haybales on Art Sutter's wagon was a lesson in life balance while also dryland training for skiing? Rest In Powder Art.
