Ethel (and Pud) are part of so many of my favorite memories at Vermont Lutheran Church. She was the Sunday School teacher who let us truly quesion and discuss the Bible and faith when I was in junior high. She was a treasure--talented both musically and artistically. Love to Ingerid and her family as they celebrate the life of a wonderful woman.

Once weekly, when Ingerid was in Black Earth Elementary School, Ethel volunteered for me in the Library. She was so talented and caring that I saw her as an important role model. Her warmth, acceptance and calm demeanor gifted everyone she met. Once I said, "Oh, Ethel, you are amazing. Just think, if only you'd been born into a different situation. You could have been an opera singer, or something really wonderful!" She chuckled and said, " But, April, I think I'm doing fine right here." Her words and wisdom taught and humbled me. She reminded me of the many pioneering women who had the strength and insight to guide less hardy souls.
