Obituary

BLACK EARTH / SAUK CITY - Delores May Wendt-Schlub passed away peacefully, after a life well lived, and entered into her heavenly home on Sunday, June 26, 2022. She was born in Basco, Wis., on Aug. 29, 1929, to Edward and Irene (Smithke) Gehin.


Delores loved baking, which made her career at Wisconsin Heights schools a perfect fit. She also enjoyed decorating cakes, sewing, crocheting and most of all spending time with her family and friends.


Delores is survived by her children, Donna Weber (Mark Femal) of Stoughton, Debbie (Gary) Ballweg of Black Earth and Gary (Rachelle) Wendt of Mazomanie; grandchildren, Matthew, Roger, Tina, Michael, Justin, Ryan, Randy, Erich Jr., Keaton and Jenna; her brother, Morris (LuAnn) Gehin; sister, Catherine Stumpf; and many other family members.


Delores was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Frank Stumpf; first husband, Guy Wendt in 1988; second husband, John Schlub in 2019; and siblings, John, Charles, Harold, Joseph, Marvin, David and Lorraine Miescke.


A memorial service will be held at NEW HEIGHTS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1705 Center St., Black Earth, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2022. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.


The family would like to thank Maplewood of Sauk Prairie for their exceptional care.
