Obituary
Don’t you cry for me ‘cause I’m in God’s glory.
And I can see his face, it’s amazing.
I know you have doubts but I see it right now.
I promise it’s real, keep praying, I’ll be waiting.
God opened his arms and welcomed Mom, Margaret A. (Blau) Reeson, home on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021, after several years of struggling with dementia at Bloomfield Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Dodgeville, Wis. She has joined her husband, Roy; her parents; eight brothers and sisters; her son, Raymond; great-grandson, Joseph Larson; and many other special friends and family in heaven. Mom is at peace and will be dearly missed by her loving family, many special nieces and nephews and wonderful friends.
Mom was born 98 years ago to Joseph and Katherine (Alt) Blau, the sixth of 10 children and was raised on a farm near Plain, Wis. Marge met Roy Reeson at a dance in Spring Green and later married on May 17, 1947, at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, Ridgeway, Wis. They were blessed with four children and, while farming south of Mount Horeb, Mom worked as a waitress at Club 18. In 1971 they moved to town (Mount Horeb) and Mom worked at the Dane County Nursing Home until she retired.
During retirement, she enjoyed many bus tours, several winters in Arizona and a special trip to Germany in remembrance of Dad and his service in World War II. She always enjoyed spending time with family and friends, Sunday shopping trips to Madison with her sister, Catherine, playing cards, needlepoint, crocheting, and making ginger snap cookies for the grandkids. But most important, was her strong faith, attending church and praying the rosary daily for her kids and grandkids. Independent and strong, she beat cancer twice and even at the age of 95, you could still see her racing her great-grandkids.
We will all miss her dearly. Knowing Dad was waiting for her with open arms, a kiss on the cheek, a quick pinch on the butt and ready to take her dancing in her red dress will bring us comfort, special memories and smiles.
Marge is survived by many loved ones, including her children, Bonnie (Paul) Homb, Richard (Cindy) Reeson, Patricia (Michael) Ustinaowski and Ray’s wife, Darlene; nine grandkids; 14 great-grandkids; and one great-great-granddaughter due in March. For all of us that had the privilege to know and love her, our world is a better place and will be a bit smaller without her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 109 S. 6th St., Mount Horeb, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021, with Father Chahm Gahng presiding. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Mount Horeb. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday.
Special thank you to Bloomfield Healthcare for all of their compassionate care and support given to Marge. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
