Max was a valued volunteer and friend as we worked together with the American Red Cross. His counsel was wise and most often right on. I really valued out time together. Dave Sharpe

I was sorry to read Max;s obituary in the Sunday Journal. We served together for many yeas with the 44th Genereral Hospital Unit in Madison. He held many responsible positions in the unit and was extremely well thought of. I last saw him at a program at the Veteran's Museum. My deepest sympathy to Nancy, son Craig and grandsons. He was a true soldier. I am sorry that I will be out of state so will not be able to attend the service on Saturday. Thor J Thorson, Viroqua.
