Obituary

Mount Horeb - John Patrick O'Bryan, age 77, of Mount Horeb, peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at his home. He was born on Sept. 4, 1946, in Moberly, Mo., the son of Aubrey and Mary (Tymchuck) O'Bryan.


John grew up Florissant, Mo., and graduated from Hazelwood High School in 1964. He served in the U.S. Army from 1964-1966. In February 1987, he married Anne (Schultze) O'Bryan in their home.


Prior to retirement, John held a clerical position at the State of Wisconsin. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post No. 9511. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with friends, singing karaoke, playing cards and watching the Packers.


John is survived by his son, Jack Redick O'Bryan; and daughter, Shirley Handy. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anne M. O'Bryan; son, Jonathon O'Bryan; daughter, Evonne O'Bryan; and in-laws, Jack and Marjorie Schultze.


A visitation will be held at Gunderson Camacho Mount Horeb Funeral and Cremation Care, 500 N. Eighth St., Mount Horeb, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024. Burial will be held at Mount Horeb Union Cemetery.

Jack,l just found out that your father had died.sorry l didn’t know in time to come and speak with you at the funeral.Its always a difficult time for the family..Remember Jesus’encouraging promise at John 5:28-29.. The promise your Mom held on to so tightly.
