Some people wait a life time to have a uncle like my Uncle Donald. I was one of the lucky nieces that got to stay overnight with my Aunt and Uncle since we lived in the same town. I can still recall and I have pictures of Aunt Avis putting me in a brown wig and having me sit next to my Uncle Donald for pictures. Uncle Donald would laugh and ask me if she always wanted me to have dark hair instead of blond. I cherish those pictures. I also enjoyed visiting and boating, so much fun along with all the parties we use to have as a family. We were truly a close fun family and I was lucky to be part of it. I also appreciated the way both of you took care of my mom when she was sick. She loved being able to spend time with you during her sickness and it gave us great comfort that she was with loving family members. There are a lot of wonderful people waiting for you in heaven. I wish they could have waited longer since it meant us losing you. God bless you Uncle Donald - I will love and miss you forever! Love, your niece Terri.

As a small child, I remember staying with you and Aunt Avis all the time. You would be in your recliner and me on the couch. King would always to snuggled up with one of us. You and Aunt Avis were like second parents to us.
I remember the day that Dad, I and you went for a ride in your Corvair. There was a very large sand mount outside of Mazo near Hwy 78. We tried driving to the top of the sand hill. We did not make it but it sure was fun trying. I think I was around 10 yrs old.
I have you to thank for getting my motorcycle license when I was 16. (My mom was not happy) You gave me your 350 Honda to drive around to practice and I used it to do my road test. After I moved to Madison, in Oct, usually the coolest night, I would drive my bike out to Mazo and you would help me put it in storage in your mom’s garage.
I also remember that you told us that your tree grew pennies and we should dig for them. We found a lot of pennies. Someone actually drop a pail of pennies by the tree.
I will miss you. Love from your niece Lorrie.
