What a shock to hear of Vergeane's passing. I admired her greatly and have fond memories working with her at both the Mount Horeb Area Historical Society in its founding years 44 years ago to working with her at Little Norway. She was such a bright and always smiling presence and a true font of knowledge. I enjoyed greatly the moments I had the opportunity to chat with her. She will be greatly missed, but be assured she helped create a legacy for the Mount Horeb area community.in her early work at the Historical Society and for her family.

I so enjoyed knowing Vergeane during our years of guiding at Little Norway. She was always smiling and took great joy in sharing stories with the guests on tour. I often would see her at the library as she was doing research. Her family and friends will miss her greatly. Beth Elver

I have such fond memories and thoughts of Aunt Vergeane, I’ll never forget the White Christmas’s as a child or the summer bailing hay on the farm, Aunt Vergeane had a wonderful smile and she always made me feel very special. Today she is catching up with Winston, LaVonne, Grandma and Grandpa, we love you, will miss you and will never forget you. - Jay Owen
