MOUNT HOREB - Charlotte Valenette (Johnson) Loy, age 101, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Ingleside Communities Nursing Care.

She was born July 3, 1923, in Montfort, to Benjamin and Cora (Ludwig) Johnson and grew up with one sister, Bernice, and two brothers, Kenneth and Douglas. Charlotte graduated from Fennimore High School in 1940. She met Morse Wendell Loy at a dance in Stitzer and married December 31, 1941. They farmed in the Grant County area before moving to Madison in 1956. She retired from the City of Madison Engineering Department in 1984. They moved to Lake Camelot and enjoyed their winters in Mesa, Ariz. In 2005 they moved to Mount Horeb after living in Fennimore for 13 years.

Charlotte enjoyed clogging, planting and decorating gourds, fishing, bingo and many crafts. She always had time for her family as she liked to keep busy.

Charlotte is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Roger) Parkos, Linda (James) Crawley and daughter-in-law, Liz Loy; six grandchildren, Renee (Jeff), Todd (Denise), Dale (Beth), Mike (Lori), Jill and Jodi (Jerry); 11 great-grandchildren, Nicole (Mike), Lindsay (Lou), Steffan, Derek, Taylor, MacAllister, Benjamin, Sydney, Ethan, Shea and Blake; great-great-granddaughter, Lennox; sister-in-law, Audrey Loy; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Dennis; and siblings.

In accordance with Charlotte's wishes, there will not be a visitation or funeral service.

The family would like to thank Ingleside Communities for their care and Agrace HospiceCare team for their compassionate care during our mother's final days.
