Sam,
My deepest sympathy to you and your siblings in the loss of your father....whom my brother, Chuck Himsel, loved and cherished. I know your anguish and have walked in your shoes, so my empathy is great. You have been a wonderful son and guardian to your parents; God bless you as you begin this grief walk and work through the void you now feel. Our door is always open for your visit.

Sam was a gentle soul. I remember the first time I met Sam and Mary at the Homestead. I remember him from the Doudna Campus school, a man of character. He loved Mary so very much and was driving her to the foot clinic at the senior center. My parents were part of the program in Platteville bringing children from Chicago for a summer. We always had so much to talk about. A privilege to have known both of them. A huge loss for all of you! My prayers are with you. Rita K. Stanton

Dear Sam -
I was saddened to hear of the death of your father, and share in your loss. May he rest in the arms of our Savior and Lord. Strength and comfort to you in the blessed memories and gift that was his life. And hope to you in the promises of eternal life - the bedrock in a changing and changeable world. Epiphany light and peace! Yours - in Christ - Bruce Bengtson

Mr. Hutchison was my fourth grade teacher at Doudna Lab School, Platteville, WI.
He was a kind and caring man and had wonderful compassion for his students. You always felt comfort and trust in his classroom. He had a way of praising students that made you feel special.
Thank you for being my teacher and setting a great example of a "male" role model figure for a young boy in the 1960's!

Mr. Hutchinson was principal to four of our children at Jackson. I worked with him through PTA. He made Jackson the family great school it was. Our children have all gone through college. Two are retired Lt. Col. withone being a lawyer, a doctor and a biomedical photographer. This speaks to his great influence.
