Steven Eugene Hopkins

Steve was my friend. I worked with him for many years at the Wisconsin State Journal. My wife, Yvonne, and I became good friends of Steve and Frances early in our life in Madison and we shared many of the same interests, Steve had an abiding love of nature. He shared bits of his love for the natural world and his philosophy of life in the many columns he wrote for the Wisconsin State Journal.. I was privileged to accompany Steve on our many ventures in southwestern Wisconsin while I illustrated his stories. What wonderful memories we have of both Steve and Frances....eagles, biking, hiking, climbing the cliffs at Devil's Lake, etc.. steve state was an admirer of

Sorry to hear this, I admired this man's love of nature and ability to see humor among the everyday things we have in Wisconsin. RIP Steve!

Such a beautiful story of this beautiful man. He made our southern Wisconsin world a better place and will always be remembered as a good and loving person. I send my sympathy to the entire family who have lost this remarkable treasure. He taught you well how to live; now go live it!
