What a beautiful woman inside and out! I had the honor of being able to care for Bernice in the final years of her life. I will never forget the beautiful smile she had and all her loving words. Bernice would always try and share her food with me or offer me her bed to take a nap so I could "rest." She was always thinking about other's well beings first. Bernice LOVED her family immensely. She would be so excited to see Paul, Jackie and Roger. I will always remember the great times I shared with her, especially when she was tired one day and asked if she could lay down on her bed cause "that looks like a good bed." She then proceeded to tell me that I could come lay by her and snuggle if I was tired. She always wanted to make sure everyone was ok. She would say, "You are good," and I would say the same back to her. I would tell her that She was my "good friend." She would reply, " We have been good friends for a long time." Although I will miss her dearly, I know she is most likely dancing a good polka with her husband now. Being a friend of Bernice makes you a better person. You see a loving and caring heart through her eyes and it reminds you to always care for others unconditionally. I love you Bernice, rest in peace, My Dear Friend. My condolences to Jackie and Paul and families. Thank you for the honor of caring for your Mother. She made me a better person because of the person that she was. God bless you all.
