Ron and I grew up together. I would bicycle a mile out of town to his Dads farm and help him with chores during the summer months. Shocked grain, put in hay, cleaned barn gutters, ate field corn, drank raw milk, and played with his American Flyer train layout and his dog Rusty! We made it through school and he was off to the Navy and I to the Air Force. After we were discharged we "merged" our American Flyer trains in his Aunts basement. There they stayed as we both found a woman to marry. He eventually retrieved the trains and has them yet today. In my mind, he was a Master Modeler, but he dismissed my humble opinion. I loved him like a brother and I will miss him. Don Virchow

I have many fond memories of operating on Ron's layout and Bill Weber's layout with Ron. He will be missed for his love of model railroading and his sharing of stories of his railfan trips! We are all better off having spent time with Ron over the years! Steve Lanphear SCWD

Thank you, Ron, and God Bless. You are one half the reason I have a son-in-law from the top shelf. Your ethics and values live on. Judy uland
