Obituary
MADISON/OREGON-Jean K. Carr, age 88, went to be with her Lord, on Saturday Aug. 18, 2018. She was born on Aug. 29, 1929, in Madison, the daughter of Emil and Daisy (Fader) Kreutz. Jean graduated from Madison West High School with the class of 1947. She worked at Cuna Mutual for over 20 years before her retirement. Jean enjoyed the simple things in life and was a friend to all. She always had dogs in her life and truly enjoyed their companionship. Jean is survived by her three daughters, Nancy Kasinski, Mary Carr and Lisa Carr; two granddaughters, Ashley Kasinski and Anna Kasinski. She was preceded in death by her parents; and son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Janet Kasinski. A Celebration of Life will be held at ST. JOHN’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 625 E. Netherwood, Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, with the Rev. Paul Markquart presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the Oregon Senior Center, UW Hospital’s caring staff and Agrace HospiceCare. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established. I never had the pleasure of meeting Jean but I understand now why Nancy has such a BIG HEART for animals (dogs, for sure) and winged as well. Jean sounds like a lady I would like to know in the future. God's Grace is sufficient.

Jean, or Mrs. Carr as I called her, is the mother of my good friend Nancy Kasinski. When I went to her house Mrs. Carr was always friendly and kind to me. I always felt welcome. Through the years I saw her grow in her faith and become a survivor not only of the difficulties of life but also disease. She was a great mom!! I send my love and condolences to Nancy, Mary, Lisa and her grandchildren. I praise God she's now pain-free and happy in the arms of Jesus.

Jean was always considered my second Mom. She was a sweet, caring lady and had Many struggles throughout her life. She was Definitely a fighter! She set a Great example for not only her children but for others as well. She always seemed to smile and bear things in life without letting it get in the way of the people she cared for most. She has been there for me and I will Always feel Blessed that she was. She brought into this world a Very close friend of mine, Mary. For that I will Always be Grateful. It's hard to say goodbye to someone you have known for 31 years and was So important to others that are close to you. But I know in my heart that you are all around us and we will see each other again. Thanks for the memories "Mom", I Promise to Always be here for "Your Little String Bean" (Mary) and help her in Any way I can! I know you are at Peace being where you are and reuniting with some that You have missed. You will forever be in our hearts. Thoughts and Prayers go out to Mary, Nancy, Bill, Ashley, Lisa and Anna.

I knew Jean and her parents. We lived in the same neighborhood. Her daughter Nancy and son Joe were childhood playmates. Jean always had a welcoming home for the neighborhood children. She was a kind friend to my mother and grandmother. Though I left Madison years ago, I still carry those fond memories. My deepest sympathy to her family. Nancy Kramer Paul
