Obituary
MADISON-Jamie Edward Hanson, age 50, passed away at home on Monday, July 16, 2018. Jamie was born to Norman and Jane (Olson) Hanson on April 1, 1968 in Monroe, Wis. Jamie attended Madison Public Schools and graduated from Memorial High School, where he influenced the lives of many of his peers. Throughout his adult life Jamie worked in the telecommunication industry and loved all things tech. His favorite pastime was building the fastest computer he could. Jamie will be remembered fondly by his family and friends for his sense of humor (at times inappropriate but always in good fun). His children, son, Reid and daughter Sloane, were the loves of his life…and he will be deeply missed by them. Jamie had a love of all animals, music, movies and video games, but he truly treasured each moment spent with his children. A fun loving spirit, Jamie, would sit and talk to anyone for hours at a time. His friends and family will recall all the funny stories he would tell to brighten the mood and pass the time. Anyone who met Jamie will remember how eccentric, charismatic, handsome and utterly comical he was.Jamie is survived by his children, Reid and Sloane Hanson; his parents, Norman and Jane Hanson; a sister, Paula (Al) Zimmerman; niece, Melody Zimmerman; nephew, Jakob Zimmerman; uncles, Joseph Olson, Philip (Becky) Olson, Ron and Dale Hanson; aunts, Diane Hanson, Stephanie Eveland, Donna Arneson and many cousins. He is further survived by a special group of friends; ‘The Glen Hwy Gang’ and his favorite cat, Spooky.Jamie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kip and Alice Olson and Norman and Phyllis Hanson and an aunt, Marianne Olson.Private family services were held. Jaime could carry on a conversation with anybody. From the mailman to someone who worked on Wall Street. This would also be everyone in between. I think that is where I fit in. I lived on the other side of him in Cross Plains. We would talk in the afternoons frequently. He had a wide variety of topics, especially when it came to music. He knew quite alot on that subject. I had mentioned that someone sang Ava Maria at my Mothers funeral. He immediately directed me to one of his favorite singer/ group. That would be Chris Cornell from Soundgarden. He said it was an awesome rendition of the song. He was right and to this day, I think of him on that sunny day when Sloane was playing in her sandbox and we had a great conversation. I hope he finds the peace he tried to find in this world. May his soul continue to be a bright light. As John Lennon sang, "We All shine on, like the moon, sun, and stars". Robin Kroetz

Knowing Jamie for about 27 years was a true gift for me.
I’ve had really only two best friends in my life and he was one of them! Unfortunately my other one ( Steve Connery) was taken away after a motorcycle accident about 15 years ago so it’s extra hard to have lost both of them!
We had so much fun together and made each other laugh and goofed off a lot at the cable company which was one of the reasons I stayed on that job so long! We both got each other through so many BS days there! It was so hard and I lost all my fun times when he left the job.
Anyhow he will be missed sooo much and he will never leave my memory!!
Love ya Corn!!!
